Project Manager, Demand Side Management

Reporting to the Director of Demand Side Management, the Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all energy efficiency proposals and oversees the installation process for quality and timely completion. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of project management and energy efficiency measures in commercial and industrial settings. Key responsibilities include:

Pre-Sale Analysis & Proposal Generation

Review on-site facility data collected to identify various demand reduction opportunities and assess the scope/requirements/timing of project. Coordinate and mentor Blue Star Energy's Field Auditors regarding specific information needed to produce detailed and accurate proposals.

Project Implementation/Execution

Establish project plan, launch the initiative via effective allocation of internal resources, subcontractor utilization/scheduling and interface with customer contact(s).

Internal & Vendor Management

Direct management of DSM staff and/or subcontractors to ensure effective delivery of project objectives, scope, budget and schedule.

Reporting & Monitoring

Produce and automate reports provide weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly updates for each scheduled and active project from start to end date regarding overall project status, including financials and key performance metrics.

Successful candidates will satisfy all of the following experience and education/certification requirements:

Experience

  • On-site experience required in commercial, industrial, and governmental buildings, including scoping studies/audits, diagnostic techniques, in-depth systems analysis, statistics and demand reduction calculations
  • Minimum of 3 years in construction industry (4+ years preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year with lighting projects
  • Minimum of 1 year in managing teams of people doing field work
  • Demand side management, energy efficiency and/or ESCO experience a strong plus
  • Federal contracting experience a plus

Exemplary verbal, technical writing and confident presentation skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Economics, Finance or other related concentration of study
  • Preference for candidates with the following designations: Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Professional Engineer (PE), Lighting Certified (LC) by NCQLP, Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP)

Analytical Skills

Advanced analytical and quantitative thinking skills with concentration and strong attention to detail. Ability to analyze relative impacts to the business and our customers.

Relationship Manager & Builder

Strong individual contributor with consultative style and aptitude for collaboration and teamwork. Skilled at working across multi-disciplinary functions, departments, and customer contacts with various levels of expertise/understanding.

Technology

Fluent in use of basic and custom applications to communicate/report/document projects. Interact with IT to automate/resolve system and application issues and contribute to development of new system applications/process improvements.
